FOLK FANZINE

In 2009 we collaborated with Mark Jermyn (one69A) and Justin Parkinson (Folk, Wine and Wallop, Flok and whatever is there to come...) to create an original fanzine to entertain queuers' minds away from other customers' dishes, whilst they waited to be served in the ever-busy Folk, on Saturday's mornings, rain or shine.

Features were written either by members of the staff –all Literature or Philosophy students at the time, or by members of the public that frequented this quirky bar on Burton Road, in West Didsbury.

Sections included interviews with (other) famous members of the public, book and LP reviews, recipes, and miscellaneous. Inside the opened A1 sheet, a poster designed by Jermyn, screen printed in two colours and sparkled with blood, sweat and tears; completed the publication.

Copies sold out, at one whole English pound each, before the end of the first and only weekend they were ever on sale.
