IDEOVISUAL, A STUDY ON WORDS AND THEIR LOST MEANINGS...

Ideovisual steals words from the streets, where they have been abandoned after brands, businesses, political and social movements expropriated their meanings by overuse to bring them back to life by re contextualization, through the creation of new environments, for the words' extinct meaning to recover and blossom again.

Ideovisual is the journey of a word trying to become an object in a world that does not longer value what can't be monetised.

The project was born in Manchester, 2009, as a response to the birth of an over-informative era augmented by the, at the time emerging, social media platforms starting to populate the Internet.

The initial idea was to mold poetry into a format more appealing to these platforms.

Past commissions and collaborations include Espacio Islandia, La Casa Encendida, PoeMad, Discos Edison's, Brighton's Artists Open Houses and Salford Makers amongst others.

Ideovisual is an ongoing project.
